The 28th International Marble and Granite Fair, the Cachoeiro Stone Fair, which happens on August 25th – 28th in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, promises to stir up the Baiano dimensional stone sector. The CBPM (Bahia Mineral Research Company) has already guaranteed their presence in the fair and its president, Rafael Avena, said he I optimistic to close new business deals.
Aiming to harness development and social inclusion, CBPM performs social actions, doing grants with cities, associations and cooperatives. An example of this is the Assobegee, Bege Bahia Marble Producer Association, which this year will participate in the Cachoeiro Stone Fair through CBPM. Rafael Avena Neto, technical director of CBPM, stated that the incentive to bring this association to the even is to increase the sales of the Bege Bahia Marble, where there is a large amount in the city of Orolândia, North East of Bahia.
The expectancy is also big for the Assobege president, João Dantas de Carvalho. “The Fair is an excellent opportunity to present our marble, find clients and advertise our product, being that the fair unites buyers from all over the country”, stated Dantas. The Assobege unites companies that commercialize the Bege Bahia Marble in various states of Brazil and internationally. Of the extracted material, only 15% is sold brute. The other 85% are sold in slabs or totally finished. The production of the association generates around 100 thousand square meters per month.
The Baiano state is also rich in noble and exotic granites, this is why it is getting the attention from other companies from other states, especially from Espírito Santo, stated Rafael Avena. “Many merchants that extract stones from Espirito Santo are interested in Bahia to extract different stones, this way they diversify their products”. Adding that Cachoeiro Stone Fair always brings good business.
Specialized in increasing and upgrading the geological knowledge of the Bahia terrotory, in identification and research of its mineral resources and the fomentation its profit, CBPM works on prosecution and research of its mineral resource, creating investment opportunity and attracting, with this, a private initiatives.
